Cabins
Living in the beautiful Potomac Highlands, cabins, and in particular log cabins, are a way of life for many. While we do not build log cabins, we have done a lot of finishing and trimming them out. We have completed new cabins, remodeled fairly new cabins, and have even done a complete interior fire restoration on a log cabin. Therefore, we can offer help with design, trim options, stains & finishes, and so on. We work with you to complete a project that will be unique, beautiful, and provide you with years of enjoyment. Log cabins are a different type of animal and require special skills and techniques to ensure a trouble free finished product.
Below are some pictues of a log cabin we did a fire restoration on. I finished out the basement for them 8 years before the fire, which was caused by a faulty dehumidifier The fire did a lot of damage to one corner of the cabin, and the entire interior was covered in soot.
Corn cob blasting was done on the interior. Which, not not only cleaned them up like new, but also got rid of the soot smell. Damaged wiring was replaced along with all new plumbing. New tongue and groove pine roofer boards were lightly stained to help blend with the older corn blasted wood. All interior wood was then protected with 3 coats of water base poly. I was told the cabin looked even better than it did before the fire!
